Rep. Saddler selected for National Military & Veterans Task Force Co-Chair
Boston, Massachusetts, August 7, 2017 - Today at the National Conference of State Legislatures, Representative Dan Saddler (Eagle River/ JBER) was selected as co-chair of the Military & Veterans Affairs Task Force in recognition of his passionate efforts to help those who serve, or have served, the nation in uniform.
"I was surprised and honored to be selected to serve as national task force co-chair, along with Washington Rep. Tina Orwall," said Minority Floor Leader Rep. Saddler. "I hope to raise the awareness of the important role veterans and the military play in U.S. states - with an emphasis on how Alaska contributes to national and global security."
Representative Dan Saddler has represented Eagle River and Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson since 2011. He consistently talks with men, women and families directly and indirectly connected to the military, activities which have offered him valuable insights to the importance of protecting the military in Alaska.
Rep. Saddler invites Alaskans to continue sharing their opinions and suggestions to help him accomplish his new mission successfully.
"My thanks to outgoing Co-Chairs Rep. Dan Flynn of Texas, and Rep. Ken Ito of Hawaii for their leadership over my six years on the task force," said Rep. Saddler. "I look forward to continuing work on the NCSL Military & Veterans Affairs Task Force."
