Statements on Reversal of Arctic Leasing Ban

Friday, April 28, 2017, Juneau, Alaska - Republican House Resource Members cheer the renewed opportunity for Alaska’s Arctic development. Action taken today to reverse President Obama’s ban on Arctic Outer Continental Shelf leasing and drilling will greatly benefit our state.

“The action from President Trump opens up the path to creating high paying Alaska jobs that will help stimulate our economy at a time when we need it most,” said Representative David Talerico (R-Healy). “Responsible resource development is key for Alaska prosperity.”

“The America-First Offshore Energy Strategy recognizes the broad support in Alaska and support across the nation for responsible offshore development while securing our resource independence,” said Representative Chris Birch (R-Anchorage).
